Beginning Astrology: Every 2 years or so I teach a beginning astrology class which I take through a few levels. I will be beginning one of those in January 2007. It will meet every other Wednesday starting November, 2007 in the evening from 7 – 9:30 at my house. There is a limited amount of space so if you are interested please call or email ASAP. The cost is $300.00 for 10 classes. A deposit of $50.00 is required to hold your place.

A study over five meetings about the journey out of the realm of adulthood into the realm of the Elder. It’s new territory in many ways because many of our parents didn’t see themselves as elders. They came to this point at a time when the surrounding culture worshipped only what was young and new. Explore with me what might be required of us as we make this transition in a world that seems to be falling apart (does the world ever seem otherwise? I can’t remember…) Of course I will be using the wisdom of astrology to guide these sessions. There are four classes which are experiential as well as informative. The fifth meeting is a ritual For people 55 years and older – up to any age. It is always useful to understand the beginning of a cycle even long after you have passed it. The idea is that by the end of the sessions you will have your own manual for how to deal with the third stage of life. The stages of human development can be described through astrology in a way that provides insight into our being, and allows us to use this insight to become more conscious of our human nature. |

| Archetype, Mythology and Culture | |
| Joseph Campbell said: "It
would not be too much to say that myth is the secret opening through which the
inexhaustible energies of the cosmos pour into human cultural manifestation."
It is not a leap for astrologers to see that one of the most directly
accessible means of mythological perception is astrology. We could amend this
quote just a bit (with apologies to Joseph Campbell) to say, It would
not be too much to say that astrology (as an interpreter of myth) is one of
the secret openings through which the inexhaustible energies of the cosmos
pour into human cultural manifestation.
Whether or not you are an astrologer this will be an exploration of the cultural manifestations of myth in our current world and how it is changing, even as we speak! Come and make some myth (using astrological symbolism, of course!) |

Every two and a half years
Mars, the warrior planet, goes retrograde. This is the only time it can oppose
the Sun, the King. This year the start is on December 20th and the finish
is
March
10th.
The
actual
opposition
of
mars
to
the
sun
is
January
29,
2010. Seems like something worth pondering. You don't need to be an astrologer to come to this workshop. We will unpack the symbolism for all to grasp. |
