Each month the Moon inscribes a circle around us: She conjuncts the Sun and at this time we cannot see her at all. Slowly and surely she waxes in light until she becomes full, after which she wanes with comforting and predicable regularity. Human beings down through eons of time have navigated things such as planting, marrying and travelling by the phases of the Moon. Even as she pulls the tides it can be helpful to contemplate and encourage our own creative rhythms on a month by month basis using the phases of the Moon as we go.

At the actual New Moon each month is the best time to align most consciously with the energies which are stirred by the Moon’s passage. At these times we gather and discuss the themes of the  month. We think about what our intention might be toward these themes and we do a short visualization to help deepen our understanding of that intention. At the end, those who are interested pull eight cards, one for each of the eight phases of the Moon for the coming month. Dates and times of these phases are provided.
